With the highest wage rates in the world it is no wonder we have so many people wanting to move here. The problem we have is that the largest number enjoying those rates are in the public service and add little to productivity. The second problem is those rates are reflected in the cost of living which is probably also reflected in the fact that we still have a large number below our accepted poverty line. We probably have the highest cost of living.
We maintain that wage level by selling the "farm". Sooner rather than later it will all collapse. It will collapse faster because of Codit19 for the simple reason that not one person on the public teat has lost their job and the burden has fallen 99% on small business owners.
All brought about by too many Labor governments, particularly in the States, controlled by unions. Too little "free enterprise". Too much "I want" and not enough "I will earn".
