i think gold and the dollar can fall together they both have been rising together to make sense out of that move you would just make the connection with inflation because if the dollar rises with infltion expectations and obviously inflation is bullish for gold because it protects your cash against inflation. so if theres no inflation on the horizon i can easily see them both falling together.
