Options (in this context)are options to buy shares (invest) at a set price in a company.Options benefit a company by providing cash directly into its coffers if the share price reaches the excercise price within the required time frame.It is used as an incentive for both employee's and shareholders.
Because a company's SP rises doesn't mean they are suddenly flush with cash,nor does it mean they are broke because it drops.
If options were handed out to anyone at a price that was within a bee's d--k of the actual Sp I think there would be cause for alarm.This is not the case here.It's not Taxable until sold for profit so it can't be income!
Common with just about every company today to offer options to employees as part of their salary package, yet to see anyone taxed on options.
