It becomes possible that several companies shipping out of Newcastle will be very concerned about the building of the new mine at Moolarben. This mine is very low cost compared with many in the Hunter and in present markets could force them to close their mines or massively reduce production.
An owner of the Moolarben mine would exercise quite a lot of clout with production moving to 13mtpa by 2012.
The present Felix share price between $7.50 and $8.00 indicates a possible bid around $11.00 to $12.00, in normal circumstances.
