Australia has to industrialise (process minerals and manufacture steel & aluminium products) which requires alot more electricity than today's capacity. Add to that the increasing automation (replacement of labour with electric machines) + EVs and we'll simply need to double electricity
generation over the next 30 years.
For these reasons we'll have to beef up electricity generation in LNG/Coal Seam gas areas like central Qld & WA which are the likely locations for steel & increased aluminium manufacture in the event of the USA bunging full economic sanctions on China. These topics were likely discussed in the flies of the G7 in Washington last week, IMO.
