AAC has 400m+ of debt, so clearly, AAC will use at least some of the 250m it gets to pay down its own debt.
I doubt AAC would buy back its shares from FCL at 2.79, when AAC is currently trading below 2. That would be a major scandal. You normally have to sell at a discount to market price, not at a premium.
This is still a positive for FCL, just not as a big as you are making it out to be. Jackman was expecting to sell its AAC stake for 135m, equivalent to 1.23 per share (yes massive discount). Now maybe FCL can get more.
