You just got through telling me that basically ALL people have used money since right back into the paleolithic, that's what your authors are claiming without evidence I might add. Well according to Tacitus the Germans didn't know about money until they came into contact with the Romans.

Some tribes may have stuck with barter, but that doesn't change anything. Barter is a means of exchange where value is assigned to various goods and services, a sword in exchange for two cows, or whatever.
