Where else in the world do houses become uninhabitable because doors get ripped off hinges, toilets smashed, water pipes broken?
Where no one would think of picking up a tool to fix anything.
A settlement on APY land - the water pipes were "broken". Garden hose on the top of the soil transferred water from one dwelling to another. Ground temperature would at times be 50C in the sun. Then hoses broke. No one did anything and there was a big wet patch for months. Now after wasting all that water, the bore is going dry.
They are whining to the NT govt to fix the water.
Plenty time to riot at Yuendumu. No time to fix houses, put in a few screws, fix fly wire.
Overcrowding now as they flock to the houses where the dunny isn't broken.
How would you break a toilet. Even after a house fire the toilet is one of the few things left.
