No offence but its clear you just haven`t cracked the benefits of charting ..the trick to gauging trend strength is being able to monitor clearly whats happening in other time frames simultaneously
not many people are able to do this...but by using a daily and weekly MACD on a daily chart will give some idea of how the two a cycling together..weekly MACD will only cross the axis line when daily price has conquered long term resistance..this is where the biggest breakouts are....and that`s only about twice a year if your lucky!...look at the weekly and daily macd at the moment both right at the axis line and now combine that with the massive inverted head and shoulder pattern that has built up below this resistance line.. (long term 62% Fib @ 6.5c)....gotta look at the big picture.
