If you read the article the Feds didnt find out anything for five days BECAUSE their State Government counterparts DID NOT TELL THEM!!!

This entrenched position you take for your side rather than being beholden to principles undermines all your arguements.

Victoria is in this current mess because of the Victorian State Government and its bureaucrats. It fecked up because it either did no Risk Assessment of the most likely sources of infections and reacted appropriately or it did such a poor Risk Assessment it determined that fining golfers and fishers and ramblers was a higher priority than guarding hotels filled with the quarantined.

Now I do Risk Assessments and Vulnerability Assessments for a living. So I can say with some experience and knowledge, those decisions made by the Victorian State Government not to take seriously the risk of infection from quarantined people in hotels is appalling. It was a dereliction of the most basic of duties.
