You seem to have been a product of the Professor Misty school of economics!!!

"The really good thing is that we have a govt that is actually going to spend it on things that will improve the productivity of our economy" How does the $10.4b handout improve productivity? A $10.4b sugar fix that is here today and gone tomorrow with nothing to show. I know many people who have gambled it, punted it, overseas tripped it, drank it (this does probably produce a job somewhere), spent it on imports, or even simply banked it against debt.

People will not start to spend freely again until such time as their jobs are secure. This is a long way off and is probably made even more insecure by Rudds IR changes.

A far better initiative would have been to fast track infrastructure spending. This soaks up those losing their jobs and people are confident in themselves as they have meaningful jobs.

"The other thing I welcome is the fact that the $10.4B stimulous package is targeted at those in our community who have the highest propensity to consume" Your are kidding. Age Pensioners are the least likely to consume other than basic living requirements. They replace the fridge when it does not work, the TV when it does not work, the lounge suite when it fals apart etc. The 25-40 year olds are the most likely to consume as they are establishing a life style.

I was given $3000 from Rudd and laughed all the way to the bank. Deposited into 3 x $1000 member super funds and will generate a further $4500 from dear old Kevin in super co-contribution. Silly Kevin, that has done nothing for the economy, but thanks for the give away.

A fool and his money are soon departed!!!! LOL
