personally I prefer Santos purely on a cost basis, eg I can afford more, and there have been some rumours bandied around about it being a potential takeover target, but I have yet to here anything concrete on this front. I think all the oil downrampers might be in for a bit of a shock in regards to the price of oil early in the new year, particuly when the opec cutbacks begin to bite, as the price of oil can only be manipulated down for so long using excess reserves IMHO. Either way, I think both stocks will prove to be a good investment for long holders.
