I'm with you on the short sellers - I believe selling something you don't own is definitely immoral, and should be illegal. All of the arguments in favour of short selling are red herrings, and are put forward by people with a vested interest.

However, I don't see short selling as being responsible for yesterdays fall. It fell on massive volume, to a record low. It would be ridiculously stupid to short sell a stock under those circumstances, as there would be no possibility to cover, and the chances of it dropping further would be limited.

Short sellers are greedy - but not that stupid.

I still think it's a forced sale.
