The Drum has many Lib supporters/members frequently commenting on news items as well as socially progressive people and neither 'side' dominates. The main facilitator, Julia Baird is the daughter of Bruce Baird and sister to the socially and fiscally conservative Mike Baird. I have never heard Ms Baird make a comment that could be construed as biased in any way and the same can easily be said of other facilitators.
7.30 and Leigh Sales presents investigative reports into politics-related news items. Her interviews are very tightly focussed on asking questions that many voters want answered. Problems in any interview occur when the interviewee declines to answer, obfuscates or tries to distract from the question. Unfortunately an appearance of bias can occur if the Lab interviewee answers questions more thoroughly and directly while Lib interviewees try to avoid answering. Most interviewees get a grilling as most try to not answer. It appears to me to be pretty evenly balanced.
Now what about Insiders? Afternoon Briefing? and all the other politically focussed programs... its far better to have politicians come under scrutiny that to allow the pollies to avoid such. On Sky you get far right wing extremists making idiotic diatribes either attacking Labor or praising Liberals... obvious bias. Why would this be of any value at all?
