Ive been wondering how all this base money eventually makes it into commodity prices. Sure, I understand the general notion that extra dollars = monetary inflation, but how does this translate into price inflation in today's environment? How will that happen? Rebate cheques? More Kevin Rudd cash injections? We fall over ourselves to get at low-interest-loans? Credit availability is disappearing fast in the US & Europe (but not here - yet). Im doubting its going to be loans from banks that does it, so how will it happen?

As for Ackerman's deflation call, why knock it? In fact, why do gold bugs fear deflation? Its a fantastic position for gold holders. OK, the actual currency value of your gold holdings is going down, but is very likely to be falling at a slower rate than all other asset values. Its what your gold buys you that counts, not its fiat-currency-prescribed value.
