The point I would make that may or may not be in line with your thinking Frank is if money is not that important then why are we so obsessed in chasing the all mighty dollar by whatever legal means, including day trading? Wouldn't the world be better off if we all focused on more productive endeavours? Better still, as proposed by the Venus Project (which I don't believe in by the way as it's full of flaws) money should be removed from the system completely, and we should build a purely technology based society. Of course, the real reason we don't focus on more productive endeavours is this world is based on money in so many ways, good and bad. So, money is in fact almost everything, unfortunately. Those who can live happily as paupers (as distinct from the unhappy ones) are the lucky ones as they are not "poisoned" by the greed for lots of money.
