Novonix: One million miles of range

Novonix's key asset is a technology called Dry ParticleMicrogranulation, or DPMG for short. DPMG represents a dramaticsimplification of the production process for monocrystalline cathode material,is significantly more environmentally friendly and does not produce anyrejects. DPMG has the potential to significantly reduce material costs forbattery producers.

The technology can also be used for the production of high-qualityand inexpensive anode material. In lithium-ion cells, graphite isprimarily used here. Novonix has partnerships with the two large batterymanufacturers Samsung SDI and Panasonic ,whereby Samsung SDI could soon become a long-term customer for syntheticgraphite from Novonix.

Novonix is also working on an advanced electrolyte. Allthree of Novonix's technologies together - anode material, cathode material andelectrolyte - create a battery that could power an electric car for over 1.6million kilometers while maintaining over 80% of its capacity. And, as Isaid, with reduced production costs!

It currently has a market capitalization of around $ 280 million. Novonix'addressable market is expected to grow to between $ 50 billion and $ 100billion over the next five to ten years, the company expects. With justone percent market share in 2030 and a 10% profit margin, the annual profitwould be 100 million US dollars. That leaves plenty of room for furtherprice increases.
