I am not having a go at you but these are the same questions I have asked myself over and over now for about 6 months. The milk is spilt. There is no use crying over it or hoping to unspill it.
Personally I am on a mission to manufacture a spill proof cup for next time....that is where I believe my efforts can be best spent.
