Nostalgia isnt what it used to be.
Everyone thinks they grew up in the glory days, and their life experience is the best, because thats what they know.
There are elements of todays society that are so far beyond what the 60's looked like, its not funny. Likewise, there are elements from the 60's that I wont truly understand, because all I know is what happened to me, between 1982 and today.
Everyone I speak to used to think things were better.
Things are pretty darn good for us in the lucky country. Some more than others obviously, but where else in the world, does someone on crap wages, in a crap job, have a secure financial future, and a place to call their own? I know baggage handlers here, who do better than the average businessman in a lot of small countries.
Our biggest issue is that the work life balance was wrong. COVID is correcting that now. We have much more time on our hands, and people dont seem to like it.
