I use a 11 period DMI instead of 12 or 13 or 14 or whatever.

The SPI chart below is a little suspect because of holidys BUT...

ADX says, yes, there is a trend in place and obviously that means up.

DM+ is about normal highs unless a serious bull is in place.

DM- is very low and suggest a closing up is probable.

The basic rule is to take positions when things are on the cusp not when they are at extremes.
