@sailorgirl; the Federal government is supposed to properly fund private sector aged care and is responsible for their accreditation including their supervision. Feds decide who gets the nod to access aged care support and the level of that support. Private owners are responsible for the daily operation of private sector aged care.
Despite the misinformation being spewed out by Murdoch Mouthpieces states play no role in private sector aged care but do have some of their own publicly operated aged care facilities [none of these have been reported as having COVID-19 issues in Victoria].
Andrews intervened into Morrison's private aged care facilities because of the unfolding human tragedy therein - my guess is that's one of the reasons he declared Victoria to be in a State of Disaster. He closed two major public hospitals to free up public health care professionals so they could replace private sector staff in COVID-19 ravaged aged care facilities.
Re Speers - the arrogance and ignorance he's brought across after having operated as a Murdoch Mouthpiece for so long is abhorrent.
