It's actually quite dificult to find anyting definitive on the net. Unminable coal seams are mentioned as a way to pump CO2 into themm and help recover the methane for csg. The CO2 'sticks' to the coal. But if most of the seam is burnt or removed I'm not sure. I'll keep looking and get back to it if I find something of interest
