Voltaire..... i agree that the financial stimulus in US, UK is band-aid stuff and is absolutely ensuring those economies implode. And good riddance IMO. Here banks have been more cautious but still will see high levels of bad debt. The mkt will rise 100 points tomorrow IMO. I used to be a short seller starting march 24 2005 ending in november 2008 when closed my last short position. Started going long on certain ASX stks in mid july and have lost cash on all except those i have bought since 25/11/08.
My strategy is 'safety first.'I seek stks that have fallen 75-90% yet have good if not excellent prospects for 2009 and beyond. The sector getting the biggest govt splurge of all time is infrastructure. hence i seek those companies that will grow on the back of govt handouts. probably only 10stks from 1800+ listed. The rest i avoid completely IMO. DYOR
