My recollection when I was a shareholder ice is WP just "appeared" to take control during the dysfunctional BOD Mk1 period - Sabby et al. Was there ever a proper process to source a new CEO at the time? Really no idea, but I have my doubts...See shareholders at the time were never privy to anything. Nothing was ever announced as I recall...But I think you are wrong on one thing. "Widely applauded"? Um I remember many of us were calling out a rather different tune way back then... One thing was very clearly early on to me in the WP tenure. He appeared to have little idea how to build shareholder wealth and no respect for shareholder risk. Nearly 5 years on..with the SP where it is? What's changed? IMO
