Attempted suppression by not only politics, but big pharma as well.

A piece of my mind:

Why did meso choose GvHD in children, Adv. HF, Chronic lower back (leading to the opiate problem) etc as the first major trials seeking approval by the FDA? I guess most people here think these diseases are what the stem cells are best suited for targetting hence why they go after them; however... if you read between the lines here this is a medical breakthrough - it's more or less a starting platform that will be used to go after new verticals such as cancer and I suspect a whole host of other problems something like a "cure all", or at least the possibility is there for it in the future.

However the refusal given to every(?) stem cell trial up until now has been either proving efficacy/manufacturing controls (as we were confronted with yesterday) or for the somewhat sad reason that there are proven alternatives, owned by the big pharma and their stranglehold on the market is fierce. S.I and team have approached this like "hey FDA, we've seen past trials be rejected so how about this; we will begin treating the worst of the worst patients in the worst conditions that have no other treatment options. If we can prove meaningful results there, then we would like to open up to many other treatments". The FDA has likely replied something like "The establishment will never allow stem cells to take over their lions shares, so come to us as you proposed and if you show us the merits we will allow expanded trials and offlabel use so as to not rock the entire boat at once. If you rock the boat you will be crushed. Come to us after saving the unsaveable and you have your shot".
