London gold zips sharply higher on firmer euro

LONDON, May 12 (Reuters) - Gold jumped higher in Europe on Wednesday, breaking above resistance at $380.00 as the euro firmed against the dollar, dealers said.
By 0855 GMT spot gold was at $381.25/382.00 a troy ounce after hitting a high for the day at $382.00. That compared with $376.80 quoted in New York late on Tuesday.

The euro was quoted at $1.1884/87 against the dollar after hitting a peak of $1.1899 earlier.
