Feel free to shoot me down in flames or just humour me but...
Could this be a possible takeover move? If CGS-CIMB continue to acquire shares but then lend them (for payment) to other major brokers I'm guessing (and it is a pure guess from my musings) that they don't have to declare ownership???
Then, when they are ready, they recall all the shares they have 'lent' and bingo, suddenly they have ??% of the company!
Is this even possible???
