It is quite amazing that a political group such as Hamas whose sole aim, and supported by other groups and countries who have the same idealogical view, of destroying isreal, can hold 1.5m people hostage to their volient approach to holding power. The poor old gaza arabs have no choice but to support hama as they would certianly be attacked by their elected representatives if they showed discount with their policies.
The people of gaza do not have food, yet hamas has enough miliary equipment to fight a battle.
what is even worse is that people are making decisions based on the suffering - as was siad to me once - suffering seduces people into beleiving that those suffering are right. people loose rationale thought when they see suffering and Hamas know how to exploit. And that is the reason they continued to fire rockets into isreal, knowing the outcome would serve to turn public opinion towards them and their suffering.
Hamas does not care about people but rather the power that the ruling Hamas gain from oppressing their own people. at least in isreal, the people will be able to vote to get rid of the government if it is acting bad. When Fatah tried to compain in Gaza, the Fatah people endured gun battles with Hamas to control Gaza.
Both Jordan and Eygpt who have peace treaties have developed sustainable economies and improved the lives of their people.
But irrespective of what is said Hamas will be seen through rose coloured glasses by many as the poor defenceless sheep, rather than the wolf in sheeps clothing.
