All Ho Chi Min wanted was to get the French out, and rightfully so. He was a nationalist before he was a communist. Needs do as needs must. So, America brought peace to Asia by killing 1m and losing 55k themselves(though they never shut up about that, you'd think they lost a million),losing the war, destabilising Laos and Cambodia in the process. How does this work? Bringing peace by bombing? Orwellian to say the least "War is Peace "etc
As for Kissingers efforts in the war crimes department I think that it rreally relates to the Allende overthrow and installation of Pinochet in Chile that has somewhat cramped his travel plans.There were plenty of other war criminals McNamara amongst them.
A question I have asked a few times here and never received an answer is "why do we have such difficulty recognising war criminals from anglo countries"Can you think of any recognised war criminals from anglo countries? Is it because we are morally superior or is it because winners of wars call the losers names and then hang them? Seems that way.we should be careful never to lose a future war, otherwise we will be cast as the war criminals.
As for Kissinger being a war criminal because he is jewish??? That's crazy, his jewish ethnicity(as opposed to his religion, was he observant?I don't know or care)is incidental to his war crimes. Why bring race into it?
