The board of Elixir recently decided to divest the company of all their other mining activities and interests and focus on one country, one large tenement, one resource, one target market. They do this because they know what’s there, how to find it, measure it, prove it up and extract it and have the skill and experience to help others eventually commercialise it. They drilled two holes in a 30,000 sq km area and declared Mongolia’s first ever coal seam gas reserve (Nomgon 1) and will soon announce a contingent resource (Nomgon 2) just from this single sub-basin from thousands in the PSC. Many of these other sub-basins have identical geology to Nomgon. If you are as experienced and skilful as the Elixir board you don’t need to spread your risk because that would make you take your eyes off the target.
