Have a look of Yancoal's HY report released yesterday. They lost 45m. They earned $34 for each tonne they sell, and still they lost money.
In the scheme of things 45m is minimal given the company size. However, unless coal pricing turns to US$70 or so, base on my analysis of latest report, YAL will continue to lose money. I hate this as I have a large investment in YAL.
WHC is probably in the same situation.
How likely are we seeing a price rebound this year? I'm not entirely optimistic, nor am I pessimistic. Market can give surpruises. Might need to crunch my numbers and decide.
