I would have thought that having the health industry at economic conferences was a fairly obvious thing to do --

but, tobacco companies ----- well ----------- what's the point?

what would you be doing? - calling on their better nature?


many pharmaceutical companies would have begun at least with the good intentions of helping the human race to be better - at least philosophically

and, they are in an industry that can prevent --- 'transmissible' diseases - diseases that have wiped out millions of humans throughout history

to me - for economics forums that hope to be for the betterment of human societies - there's a place sometimes for pharmacy and food production

there's little place for cigarette makers or arms manufacturers or gambling companies
