Gents, you both raise excellent points that contribute to the conversation - for sure.
So let's assume they come in lock, stock and barrel. They "buy" PAA. With buying PAA, you buy all the knowledge about the reformulated magic.
Say the have a licence agreement, then they still get all the knowledge about the reformulated magic but the crown jewels are retained by PAA.
So, at the end of the day, the relationship with Elanco may (and may also work against us) only be of benefit while their patent resides over the base drug. So by 2023, ending 2024 there are no handcuffs. Also note, Elanco will have relationships of their own with plenty of other big pharmas.
I like the considerations but still, I am not so sure. I think at the end it will be the offered arrangement and $$ that will determine our Human trials and future buddy.
