Pure speculation, but I think 'The Yield' could be another company looking to integrate Akida. They are a small Australian AgTech company with $13M funding from Bosch and $11M from Yamaha. Their product Sensing+ does things like resource management and weather prediction. It uses deep learning and is installed in remote locations (Akida could be very useful here). It also has Bosch hardware installed, and Bosch has a high capability with SNNs.
Bosch President of Oceana said:‘Agriculture 4.0 is coming of age, and Australia is poised to play a leading role thanks to companies like The Yield,’ he says.
‘Bosch’s further investment in The Yield reflects our confidence that they have something quite unique, and are now gaining serious traction with corporate customers.’
If Bosch is confident they are valuable, they must have some very good algorithms or some other game changing technology. Or they see opportunities to integrate Akida along with their own products. A company so well versed in this SNNs would be seeking out these partnerships or taking over these types of new companies IMO.
Nolan Paul of Yamaha said:
Based on our domain analysis, we selected The Yield as a best-in-class solution in delivering predictive insights for specialty crops […] The Yield is poised to be The Climate Corp of horticulture, and we look forward to supporting the team’s strategic plan to scale its data-driven solution to the global specialty crop market.’
Yamaha also has a lot of confidence in them and had done thorough research before investing in them. My thoughts are that you'll probably find more big companies investing in companies which use Akida in their products. This allows these bigger companies to get a larger share of these new emerging markets and integrate their own products, which is a win win situation.
