yes, the government has received good economic advice early and it decided to act on those advice early, a credit to our economic advisers to the government.
Some stimulus packages require parliamentary approval, let's hope the Senate is not too obstructionist. Economic stimulus on a large scale needs time for its benefits to filter through to the different sectors of the economy, a start as early as possible is important when the aim of such measures is to stimulate demand.
Of course an important consideration is that such measures should have a long lasting benefits for the country, that is why the intended spending on infrastructure assets is to be commended.
