How true is that, peppie, NOT VERY TRUE AT ALL.
Nearly all of the top registered shareholdings are nominees and custodians.
They may be holding shares on behalf of multiple insto holders. Also, an insto shareholder may be holding shares through several nominees and custodians.
It is apparent that QBE has accepted multiple SPP applications from these nominee and custodian shareholders.
So what is a "shareholder" then ? The apparent holder or the actual holder ? They seem to want it both ways.
And now QBE wants to ration the shares according to shareholding size. Well orright, if they want to do this, whats wrong with a PROPER RIGHTS ISSUE ?
QBE has pulled off a very profitable scam here by asking for money, keeping it for a month and then giving most of it back.
