I don't disagree with you on this, however well before the frost we had an AG tech company that got rid of any ability to innovate, followed by a pivot to become farmers with no farming experience under the pretence of a "research farm".
Investors ignored the research farm but, and just focused on the potential profits from the production of the hemp. Any activity to support increased uptake of their so-called asset - the licensed and the proprietary algorithms and monitoring systems - disappeared. Everything hinges on a role of the dice into an industry where they have zero track record and zero experience.
So while I do agree with your points, the signs were there. Part of the process is to read the announcements, but that shouldn't be the entire process.
I don't mind - I didn't invest, so I've lost nothing. And maybe the company's announcements should be enough to go on. To my eyes though that seems pretty risky for an unproven business.
