    Any association I think is pure speculation. In the spirit of speculating it wouldn't be hard to conclude that RIO would be very keen to take an SDL out of the equation so that the big 3 cartel remains pure. On this basis, RIO would:

    (a) possibly redirect its project efforts and investment to an SDL resource. From a distance, the two projects (viz Corumba and Cameroon) don't look overly different in terms of scale or complexity; or
    (b) simply acquire SDL with the view to closing down any meaningful progress on that project until such time as market conditions improve.

    The basic premise is that by taking SDL away from the offtake table, then current pricing negotiations are less "complex".

    An alternate hypothesis is far less complex... by withdrawing progress on the Corumba project, available IO resources x years down the track will be less...

    Food for thought. Pure guess so do you own research!
