I agree that is certainly possible.
So is imagination and suggestibility and they are much more common.

If you ever get the chance and have not already done so, visit Chartres Cathedral ... when there are no tourists around and the local choir is not rehearsing.
Just to walk on those stones worn by countless pilgrims for almost a thousand years is extraordinary. The stained glass, light and proportions are something else and one certainly doesn't have to be religious to feel and appreciate that. In fact it's probably an advantage !
