Hot Copper BRN lore posits a large household name Korean concern interested in Akida (I think based on crumbs of info from the CEO). But what about China?

Xiaomi released its H1 financials yesterday. According to a South China Morning Post report it’s the world’s fourth largest smartphone vendor after Huawei, Samsung and Apple. Its Q2 revenue was up 3.1 percent from the previous year and its overseas business has bounced back to pre-pandemic levels. The stock is up more than 70 percent year to date. More interestingly, SCMP reports its chief executive as saying that the company is building up its artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) platform.

Declaration: this is my first post under a new name. I’ve posted infrequently over the last five-plus years as “Mad Agascar”, a name I chose before the relist, when we were still Aziana, the Madagascan mineral outfit. I am not ashamed of, embarrassed by or hiding from my previous posts. The old name is no longer relevant and I don’t like it. I make this declaration as a courtesy to other forum users.
