With regards to Rock Phosphate prices, yes there is no formal exchange with a price. However, there is secondary information that points to in some areas complete demand destruction:

1. CII stopped shipment for a few month to their customers. Many of these are the Palm Oil biofuel plantations in SE Asia who have been killed by low oil prices. (to counter that January is a bad month for shipping from xmas island).
2. Mosaic, one of the world's largest producers of RP, has moth-balled some plants - loads of info on them NYSE:MOS)
3. China has been much more active in the exporting area according to reports, suggesting to me that internal demand is weak.
4. DAP price. This is recorded (check out the fertilizerworks newsletter). Has been in freefall for weeks. A lot of RP demand is linked to the processors of DAP, hence if DAP prices are going down and demand waning then natural to assume inputs will be getting squeezed.

I don't think the direct application of RP is a very big market, however superphosphate is. Have a look at the rice price if you want to know how superphosphate is going.
