I have read a few times here on HC that one of the advantages Coldry has is, it is now possible to safely transport brown coal. Then I learnt that previously brown coal could no be safely transported because it has a nasty habit of spontaneously combusting.
My question is, with brown coal having such a high water content, what process, reation or factors causes this spontaneous combustion when being transported?
