@loric; if John Howard, Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison had not slashed and burned workers employment conditions and gifted the lives of elderly Australians to unscrupulous millionaires we would have been able to ride out COVID-19 without major lockdowns.
The problem is that Coalition governments enabled those who place $Greed a long way ahead of people to run amok in Aged Care to the point that they were human tragedies waiting to go off like fire-crackers.
Likewise with Australia's now impotent and casualised workforce wherein 40% of Australians have nothing to fall back on and have to keep working even when they're sick. It's already well-documented how poorly paid people felt compelled to work across multiple works-sites even when infected because they couldn't afford to do anything else.
As sure as night follows day; Howard, Abbott and Morrison are the architects behind what COVID-19 has done to Australians and to our economy.
