”Hemp Plastic” is not what you think it is, nor is it biodegradable. It contains regular polymers which are derived from petroleum. Hemp fibers are mixed with standard polymers thus reducing the volume taken up by the petroleum based polymers while possibly adding tensile strength to the final product and definitely increasing the difficulty of injection moulding and increasing the price.
So for the most part, hemp plastics are a gimmick. Many charlatans in the biz because it sounds sexy but is really just petrol mixed with hemp.
