Re STT COMP, why is it only limited to 8 week and 12 month performance?
I haven't extensively tipped in the past, but my limited experience in doing so quickly showed a huge discrepancy between what would happen in real trading vs the comp... The main difference being that half of this game is about timing, and half of timing is about exiting (stops or profit realisation). There was one stock in particular for me a while back where I made about 300% on the STT (GLL), but in reality I think I realised less than 100% based on whatever exit rule's I was using at the time.
It also reminds of a time when someone tracked the performance of everyone's ultimate stock pick (if they could buy just one stock now) over 12 months and the results were fairly underwhelming. Although no doubt in real life traders wouldn't just stick with those stocks if they weren't performing.
So I guess I'm asking, why hasn't a feature been included to close out positions in the STTCOMP? It feels as though facilitating traders' exit strategies is a key missing component of the comp...
