Redflow pins post-Covid hopes on Gen 3 battery – and a market beyond lithium-ion, page-3

With the new WA proposal to reduce the $ sale of solar back to the grid during midday pushing consumers to opt in for battery to keep their generated power. This could be a great opportunity for Redflow as someone else already alluded to, if we could get more installers knowing about the flow battery tech as an option.

A question, with battery technology, is there a particular reason why manufacturers generally opt for a 10kwh battery size?

I don't know if the new Gen3 battery will be any smaller than the Gen 2, but if consumers are being pushed towards storage could RFX have a marketing advantage, albeit struggling to get any advantage at the moment, if they developed a 15kwh battery? If the Gen3 battery will be 30% cheaper than the Gen2, then why not have a 15kwh battery as well at the old Gen2 price? This could be a good point of difference between RFX and other manufacturers and also provide another option to those that want more storage but not necessarily being able to afford 2 batteries.

    Any thoughts?
