Are you so naive as to believe that in many of these Muslim countries religion and politics are not one and the same. Religion is the Law of the Land, as it used to be in the Middle Ages or, as some call that period, the Dark Ages!
But whilst Saddam was in power in Iraq it was certainly different, but that was an aberration, as subsequents events proved.
In these Muslim countries women are FORCED to wear the burqua by the oppressive, male dominated societies in which they live. I certainly don't see any nurturing, it's compulsion pure and simple.
