I have been a longterm supporter of QBE and I must admit this could have been handled better.
A straight out rights issue would have solved this problem and I would think QBE and its advisors underestimated the response from its retail base.
I do think however, that shareholders with 100 shares or less should not have been allowed to buy $5k worth at the expense of larger shareholders.
