I'm getting a little suspicious about this deal. Not long ago I looked at a property advertised as for sale. I inspected it with an agent and agreed to buy it at the suggested price. The agent presented a contract which I signed and gave the agent a cheque for the 10% deposit. After 2 weeks the contracts still hadn't been exchanged and I started to become suspicious. I had a friend enquire with the agent if the property was for sale and he was told that there was an offer received by the bank but they had not accepted my offer and it was still on the market subject to a better offer. After 3 weeks they got a better offer, I was told my deposit would be refunded. I did not get the refund until the new buyer had settled, 30 days later.

Months on and the agent got in touch with me and said the property was back on the market but at a much higher price. Was I still interested.He got short shift.

Is that is what is happening now. I have my suspicions.
