In my opinion, the australian brands could learn from the home brand labels.
Stop making pretty boxes bigger than neccessary with lovely expensive designs.
Just Label it by the law, a massive made and packed by aussies for aussies, then they too can reduce their price. Maybe not completely but by a lot.
Pass that on to the consumer and win them back
